Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Full Stack WordPress Development Team Lead to lead our WordPress development projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both front-end and back-end development within the WordPress ecosystem, with expertise in building complex, scalable, and high-performance WordPress sites, themes, and plugins. You will be responsible for leading a team of developers, driving architectural decisions, and ensuring the technical quality of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of WordPress developers to deliver high-quality products within deadlines.
  • Architecture & Design: Drive the technical architecture of WordPress solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and security best practices.
  • Full Stack Development: Oversee and participate in the development of front-end (React, Angular, or Vue.js) and back-end (PHP, MySQL, Node.js) components for WordPress-based solutions.
  • Custom Themes & Plugins: Design and develop custom themes, plugins, and integrations to extend WordPress functionality according to project requirements.
  • REST API & Integrations: Implement and maintain RESTful API integrations to third-party services and custom API endpoints.
  • Code Quality & Performance: Ensure codebase is clean, optimized, and adheres to best practices in code quality, security, and performance, including testing (unit, integration, and end-to-end tests).
  • Continuous Deployment: Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment, ensuring smooth delivery of features and bug fixes.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Collaborate with project managers, UI/UX designers, and other departments to ensure alignment on technical specifications and business goals.
  • Monitoring & Optimization: Implement performance monitoring and load testing tools to ensure web applications are optimized for speed and reliability.
  • Security Compliance: Ensure all WordPress builds meet the latest security standards, managing risk and vulnerability assessments.

Requirements:

  • Proven Experience: Minimum 5+ years of professional WordPress development experience with leadership roles in agile environments.
  • Deep WordPress Knowledge: Expert knowledge of WordPress architecture, core APIs, hooks, and filters. Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and WordPress-specific development workflows.
  • Front-End Development: Proficiency in JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue.js, or Angular), responsive design, and front-end performance optimization.
  • Back-End Development: Strong back-end expertise in PHP, MySQL, and experience with MVC frameworks like Laravel or Symfony.
  • DevOps Knowledge: Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) to handle deployment and infrastructure.
  • Version Control: Strong experience with Git, branching strategies, and managing code in a team environment.
  • Database Management: Experience with MySQL optimization, database scaling strategies, and familiarity with database management tools.
  • Security Best Practices: In-depth knowledge of WordPress security best practices, including hardening, data sanitization, XSS/CSRF protection, and compliance with GDPR/PCI regulations.
  • API Integrations: Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs, including familiarity with authentication mechanisms like OAuth2 and JWT.
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience leading teams using Agile/Scrum methodologies, JIRA for project management, and managing sprints and workloads.
  • Performance Optimization: Strong understanding of caching strategies (Redis, Varnish), CDN integrations, and code optimization techniques for fast-loading WordPress sites.
  • CI/CD: Knowledge of continuous integration and deployment tools (Jenkins, CircleCI, TravisCI) for automated testing and deployment.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) & Gutenberg: Deep expertise in ACF, custom post types, and block-based development with Gutenberg.
  • WooCommerce Development: Experience in building, customizing, and optimizing WooCommerce stores, including advanced payment gateway integrations and performance scaling.
  • Headless WordPress: Experience building decoupled WordPress solutions (Headless CMS) using GraphQL or REST API.
  • Node.js & Serverless Architecture: Experience with serverless architecture using Node.js and Lambda functions.
